Amazon's Intelligent Cloud Control group is looking for a Manager of Software Development to lead the Frontier team. Your challenge will be to lead a team of engineers to manage the incoming traffic from the public internet to Amazon websites, services and subsidiaries. You will work with your peer teams to innovate on this field to reduce Amazon pages latency. You will work on making Amazon website faster by cooperating with your business partners and identifying new ways of rendering and serving Amazon product pages. Your team will build automated processes to manage incidents quickly without impacting our customers. There are thousands of software teams in Amazon who use your software to manage their internet traffic flow and as the leader of this team, you will have a unique opportunity in improving their experience. We own an Intelligent Cloud Control System that enables organizations in the Amazon Consumer Business (Retail, Amazon Video, Kindle, Amazon Subsidiaries and more) to accelerate innovation in the Cloud. Over the next 3 years Amazon businesses will migrate 100,000s of services to AWS.

As a Software Development Manager you will define your roadmap, identify products and deliver solutions to improve our customers experience. You will be working closely with development teams and executives in Seattle and Europe.

As the ideal candidate you will be experienced in managing a multi-discipline organization. You will have a proven track record of shipping complex software solutions, diving deep into technical challenges to guide your team and have a proven track record of developing the careers of your reports. You will also be a strong communicator and will have proven abilities in managing through ambiguous situations.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

* Hire and Develop a group of engineers into a highly performing engineering organization.
* Define and drive your long term product strategy based on your relationships with key customers and technology partners.
* Deliver the software platform and scalable process to prove software resilience to a wide variety of issues, improving Amazon latency and protecting our services from malicious attacks.
* Drive DevOps and operational excellence through automation using AWS.
