The Region Authority team focuses on capabilities that will redefine the local and regional shopping experience, both online and offline. The team works on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing, from helping to enhance and scale our location aware shopping experience to designing and implementing algorithms to reduce platform cost. The team owns services that allow businesses to define geographic regions and related geometries and associate customers to these regions. This platform forms the foundational layer of Amazon.com's location aware and regional shopping experience.

We are seeking a Manager of Software Development to lead a team of engineers responsible for building large scale solutions to meet the growing demand of new hyper local Amazon initiatives including Whole Foods, Prime Now and Home Services. As the needs of business continue to evolve at a rapid pace, the solutions your team builds need to be able to adapt quickly to support these new customer experiences globally. You will guide this team to define and improve the location aware shopping experience with an opportunity to have a direct impact on the end customer. The innovations on your team will help power the next generation of Amazon systems that operate at a regional level.

As a leader you will bring proven experience building, managing and mentoring an engineering team. In this role, you will:

* Manage complex projects with significant business impact within and beyond our organization
* · Develop product vision and requirements with business and development teams that can be delivered expanded
* · Work closely with senior and principal engineers to develop the best technical architectures and designs for new software products
* · Instill best practices for software development and deliver high-quality products on tight schedules
* · Maintain a high level of operational excellence within your team and across the organization
* Represent the technical organization and evangelize the work to senior leadership
