Are you interested in leading a high performing software engineering team that is building solutions to get Alexa ready for peak traffic?

We believe in creating best in class scaling tools to enable large scale Alexa wide gamedays as well as simulate chaos and outage scenarios to get Alexa ready to handle peak events such as Super Bowl, Prime Day and Christmas. This team is responsible for building a platform that will enable 75+ teams in Alexa to gameday their services in a highly user friendly and efficient manner.

As a Software Development Manager, you will lead a team of engineers that are incredibly technical, agile, data driven, and highly collaborative. You will lead design, development, test, and deployment of a range of products and services related to Alexa scaling. You will own services and features which will enable developers to easily simulate peak loads and outages for their services.

A successful candidate will have an established background in developing highly scalable software, a strong technical ability, excellent project management and communication skills. The candidate should be goal driven and motivated to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should be over-indexed on engineering and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the overall systems development life cycle
* Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments; including day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment
* Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team
* Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach
* Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management
