Job Description

The Consumer Reliability Engineering organization is responsible for the global availability of the Amazon retail customer experience. As part of our Seattle development team, you will drive operational excellence products and programs to tens of thousands of services to deliver the best shopping experience to our customers. As Amazon's software footprint continues to grow, it is critical to ensure that the service architecture and underlying infrastructure remain resilient to failures. The Seattle team supports this goal by developing large scale control planes, and machine-learning automatic remediation systems to help resolvers discover the root cause of issues seconds after they occur, and in some cases, prevent them outright through automated action.

As a software development engineering manager, you will thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment focused on building systems that enable the development and execution of products and platforms that improve the operational posture and drive architecture improvements. You will be part of the reliability engineering practice and will be a key contributor development of best practices, strategies, and roadmaps to ensure our services remain reliable and resilient. You will own the incident and problem management processes for all of Amazon's global retail websites. You will be interacting with and influencing leaders from across the Consumer business of Amazon and Amazon Web Services to drive broad cross-organization programs to improve the reliability posture.
