Job Description

The OxS Compute team has immediate openings for engineers to design and

implement frameworks and solutions to scale Workday's growing list of

customers.

Are you passionate about in-memory object graphs, distributed caching,

advanced data and transaction partitioning, or large scale MVCC (Multi

Version Concurrency Control) systems? Do you ponder how to provide

Serializable Isolation level guarantees, at scale? Do you have ideas on

how to effectively cache and partition data for distributed transaction

processing? Do you crave working on a high performing team responsible

for the scale out of the CORE Workday data and compute platform? The

CORE Compute team utilizes advanced concurrency and distributed

computing techniques to develop the transaction processing engine that

powers all Workday Applications.The Compute team's mission is Scale and Resiliency,

and the CORE platform is at the very heart of Workday's technology

stack.

Responsibilities:

* Design and develop software systems for in-memory, transactional processing system
* Evangelize compute frameworks that scale and reduce system complexity.
* Provide technical guidance and mentor ship for OxS developers

About You:

* Exceptional object-oriented design and programming skills in core Java
* Driven to optimize development and operational aspects of software
* Strong knowledge in concurrency, multithreading, server architectures, and distributed systems
* Passionate about code cleanliness
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Thinking Bytes -> Bits | milli seconds -> nano seconds
* Collaborative team player
* Previous experience developing or leading framework development
* 2+ years of professional work experience
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (Master's degree preferred)
