Sr. Software Engineer. Backend (Core AI / Maven)

Join us to build AI powered conversational commerce experiences used by billions of people to interact with the world's biggest brands. These experiences are powered by LivePerson's AI platform "Maven", (https://www.liveperson.com/products/ai/), an OpenStack framework that incorporates artificial intelligence, machine learning, bots, big data, natural conversational interfaces and multi-modal messaging.

We are looking for Senior engineers who will be responsible for building core AI technology to enable new AI powered developer & consumer-to-brand experiences.

In addition to our in-house AI and messaging technology, we integrate with a host of partners including Watson, Apple, Google, Facebook and Microsoft, promising your projects will never get stale and you'll never stop learning.

In this role you will:

* Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team (PM, UX, engineering, science) team to transform user stories into prototypes & production code
* Create Node.js applications for REST APIs in support of key consumer & developer experiences
* Using various OO & functional language techniques to build APIs & business logic
* Design robust solutions that scale - compute, storage, networking - cost effectively while protecting customer data
* Leverage public cloud technologies, databases - NoSQL DB's, serverless (AWS Lambda, Azure functions)
* Identifying & eliminating perf. & scale issues that ripple from front-end to back-end
* Be globally minded & inclusive - we are a global team and value the diverse contributions of others.

You should be an expert in:

* BA/B.Sc. in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
* Strong coding skills & ability to perform in a dynamic, agile & entrepreneurial environment
* 3+ years of backend development
* Experience with Java, C++, Typescript, JS, Node.JS, Git & JIRA
* 3+ years of experience building REST based APIs, preferably with Node.js
* 1+ years of experience with deploying Node.js based solutions into production
* 3+ years of experience with functional and unit testing based frameworks (Jasmine, Mocha, Cucumber, etc)
* 3+ years of experience with relational databases and/or NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Redis, Mongo, S3, etc)
* Experience with AWS is a plus
* Ability to solve complex development problems and produce the highest quality code while striving to push the technical boundaries of online applications
* Ability to work quickly while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong communication and organizational skills with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced production deadline-driven environment
