Job Description

As part of the Consumer Cloud Enablement business, our mission is to build the next generation of cloud platform that will revolutionize the way people engage with the internet. We are building an Intelligent Cloud Control System that will enable organizations in the Amazon Consumer Business (Retail, Amazon Video, Kindle, Amazon Subsidiaries and more) to accelerate innovating in the Cloud. Over the next 3 years we will migrate 100,000s of Amazon services to the AWS Cloud.

Our team uses mathematical models and machine learning to predict future business metrics and automatically scale Amazon's servers to handle the predicted load. Efficiently allocating Amazon's resources to match the behavior of our customers and services is a complex problem involving statistical analysis, automation of expert knowledge, machine learning, and interoperation with many other Amazon systems. On top of all that, we're building a user experience that reduces this complexity to a level that anyone can use without needing to understand the intricacies of the system.

We are looking for talented software developers to design systems and services that will tackle increasingly complex challenges. We're building a system that will automate the discovery and scaling of all Amazon websites and services. This translates to a very large volume of data that will need to be processed by sophisticated algorithms, presenting challenging scalability, efficiency, and distributed systems design problems. Our team members also benefit from the mentoring and guidance of senior developers and have the opportunity to contribute to our product vision.
