Job Description

It's official: We handle more data than any other AWS service and now we are building the next generation of AWS front end. Want to learn how you can play a big role in the cloud revolution? Then read on.

Amazon Web Service's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) enables this with pay-as-you-go pricing and no up-front costs that our customers would otherwise have to go hunt for budget to fund. The Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) service is an essential piece of this puzzle, offering massively scalable and performant load balancing technology that our customers don't have to provision and operate.

We are building an intelligent distributed request routing layer which will sit in front of all AWS services, we call it, "Dimension X." Dimension X will allow for infinite horizontal scalability, protection from noisy neighbors and smart throttling with five nines of availability.

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer for to develop the first version of a new service which will act as the front gate for all AWS services. We will provide each customer their own view of AWS, completely isolated from every other customer. You will develop the future of Transport Layer Security (TLS) in AWS. You will be responsible for the service that secures communication between AWS and our customers. You will also contribute to the open source TLS library, S2N. You will build a system which is extremely secure, salable, and always available. We work with protocols at the lowest level. You will work with team of software development engineers who are the best of the best. Imagine doing this at scale for millions of customers, handling hundreds of terabits/sec and millions of TPS and 99.99% availability. You will work with protocols at the lowest level. You will participate in product direction and road-map planning, project execution scheduling, and hiring engineers to develop cutting-edge systems. This is a unique and rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor within a fast-growing service and help shape the technology, product and the business direction. A successful candidate will bring deep technical and leadership expertise, and ability to work within a fast-paced startup culture in a large company to deliver solid code that has a broad business impact.
