JOB SUMMARY

Provides database system support on complex Business Analytics assignments/projects.

Exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives.

Uses professional knowledge and acumen to resolve database related issues and proactively support development needs.

Focuses on providing database support within Business Analytics but works on broader projects, which require understanding of wider business.

This highly technical and hands-on position requires the incumbent to work in a team and individual work setting, contributing to all aspects of system integration including needs around performance analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, validation and documentation. The candidate will have an integral role supporting underlying data needs for analytical solutions. This role will be a key member of the knowledge solutions team, collaborating with business requestors and the development team, connecting short-term tactical work to longer-term vision and initiatives. The role includes gathering requirements, performing initial data assessment, SQL development and testing, ETL development and deployment and coordination of inbound and outbound file transfer processes. The focus of this role will be to support and improve existing processes as well as design and development to address new needs.

This role requires proven SQL development experience while serving in primary roles as a DBA. A proven track record in environments with disparate warehouses and marts.

The candidate must have the ability to familiarize self with various data models and determine how to work within these environments with little to no guidance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Ability to problem solve and think critically.
* Will work along with Senior DBA to maintain QA environment synchronization and assist in meeting needs of developers.
* Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting production environment.
* Willing to be on a rotation schedule for off hour emergencies and maintenance testing.
* Ability to perform backups, restores, and consistency checks
* Participate in compliance auditing and certification processes
* Assist in managing ETL processes.

* QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's Degree in related field with 5 years of database administration experience.
* Working knowledge of data warehousing / business intelligence best practices in a SQL Server 2014+ Enterprise environment.
* Experience developing, maintaining, deploying, and troubleshooting ETL packages using Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio.
* Working knowledge of filegroups, table partitioning, and general server resource management.
* Working experience maintaining complex queries, troubleshooting dynamic SQL, and implementing proper indexing strategies.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities.
* Experience with SSIS, and familiarity with SSRS.
* Experience with dimensional database design is a plus.
* Strong desire to move to more senior role and responsibilities.
