Software Development Engineer - C++ Twitch

Job Description

Twitch is building the future of interactive entertainment. This role is responsible for building products that help our broadcasters grow their business and thrive on Twitch. The team is rapidly expanding to keep up with the demands of our broadcasters, and we're looking for a Software Development Engineer (C++) to ensure we ship great products for them.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for improving the products that our broadcasters use every day. Our job is to make sure that every broadcaster on Twitch has a great experience, from the first-time streamer checking out the platform to the 50k+ viewer streamer making a living on Twitch. You will help build powerful features for Windows and Mac desktop users, including our in-game overlay, Electron, and SDKs.

Responsibilities

* Work with designers and front end developers to create a modern API that is easy to use, extendable, and easy to maintain
* Work backwards from the customer needs to create working designs
* Work with team members to ensure high quality deliverables that meet all the design needs
* Adhere and recommend improvements to project coding standards
* Work in a team environment with shared code; disciplined use of source code control and process documentation

Requirements

* A degree in Computer Science, a related Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
* 5+ years experience working on large scale, modern desktop applications
* 3+ years experience working with C++
* A good understanding of APIs and code generation
* Strong analytical problem solving skills

Bonus Points

* Experience working with C++ 11/17
* Experience with audio and video encoders, and their application
* Experience writing Electron or Chromium-based desktop applications
* Passion for video games and Twitch is a big plus
