Want to be part of a fun and exciting team thats working with the latest tech? Amazon Sumerian is an AWS platform for authoring and publishing 3D, AR, and VR experiences. The team uses cutting edge technology, means of communication, and the latest tools to improve our engineers quality of office life.

We are looking for skilled engineers that can help build the 3D engine (a.k.a. "game engine") at the heart of Sumerian. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to design APIs that are both powerful and easy to use, and that allow for future expansion. You must also have a passion for enabling Sumerian's developer customers to build amazing interactive experiences using Sumerian. Experience with WebGL, 3D Graphics, AR, and/or VR is desired, but not required for this position.

As a senior software development engineer, you will be expected to influence our business and technical strategies. You will coordinate with specialists from other teams in order to deliver the right solutions for our customers. You will demonstrate engineering best practices to act as an example for more junior engineers to follow.

Responsibilities include:

* Be the "go to" person for best practices concerning JavaScript and related tools.
* Extend and improve the Sumerian engine framework.
* Design and implement new Sumerian engine features.
* Work with customers to identify and fix pain points and improve workflows.
* Apply cutting edge technologies such as Web Assembly and Service Workers.
* Develop engine features that integrate with other AWS services.
* Mentor junior engineers.
