Our team is responsible for building BigData solutions using machine learning and AWS technologies over microservices architecture to churn worldwide operations data for generating insights to optimize cost for Amazon Supply Chain. We are seeking a strong engineer who can validate our success metrics, shape our strategies, and identify untapped opportunities. To be successful in this role you will need to be innovative in your thinking, effective at cross-team collaboration, experienced working with data science teams, and have a solid understanding of popular data stores. You will need to be comfortable working with complex challenges, dealing with ambiguity, and understand the value of rapid development, test and learn approaches.
Roles and Responsibilities
You will work as a senior engineer using the latest AWS, SQL/NoSQL technologies to build responsive Java/Scala based applications in a distributed service oriented architecture. You will work as part of a sustainable paced agile team and will play a technical hands on leadership role in your team giving you the responsibility, authority and autonomy to succeed. You will have a system-wide, architectural view of the solutions that you build. You will be involved in every aspect of the process - from idea generation, business analysis and technical design through to software development using the latest technologies and design patterns.
* Primary role is a senior software engineer designing and building BigData systems that crunch TB scale of data with minimal latency to generate actionable insights * Drive engineering and product best practices * Development of code in OO languages (Java), query languages (SQL), scripting languages (Python) * Analyze and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context. * Respond to high priority requests from senior business leaders * Continually improve reporting and analysis experience through automation and simplification
