AWS Safety Engineering team is looking for a strong engineering leader to build an innovative incident analysis and problem management platform. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with large scale systems, understanding how systems at scale fail, driving the identification of solutions and, above all else, is a passionate builder of talent and teams.
In this role you will be responsible for leading teams of engineers to create world-class incident analysis and problem management workflows for AWS services and customers. You must be willing to insist on the highest standards for quality, controllership, maintainability, performance and customer service. You will evolve the teams' best practices and develop a level of engineering excellence in the packaged software domain that is uncommon. You will own the goals and roadmap of a Safety Engineering development team. Your major customers are AWS services and customers including Amazon.com. You will demonstrate strong leadership as you control your own destiny in Amazon's ownership oriented culture.
As a leader on this team, you will drive architectural and design choices, invent new features, automate what we prove works, and build a scalable, adaptable platform for incident data and problem management workflows. We have a team culture that encourages innovation and we expect engineers and management alike to take a high level of ownership for the product vision, technical architecture and project delivery. Successful candidates will be high-bandwidth leaders who can cut through the noise, simplify, deliver results, and build great teams around themselves. You will hire and lead a software engineering team responsible for rethinking the assumptions behind how we understand, measure, and prevent customer impacting incidents. You will draw from your deep and broad technical expertise to hire and mentor engineers, complete hands-on technical work and provide leadership on complex technical issues. You will manage and be responsible for defining and delivering projects that will influence how AWS services and built and operated.
