Amazon Associates is the world's largest affiliate marketing program and its success has been built on a rich selection of websites and blogs, all creating original content relevant to products sold on Amazon. In this role, you will get a chance to apply cutting edge technologies and help us build, scale and operate a multi-million initiative to build intelligent recommendations for creating new content for Amazon Associates. You will own the design and implementation of major deliverables end-to-end. You will work with a diverse and multi-disciplinary team consisted of engineers and product managers, necessitating a comfort-level with ambiguity and a desire to create, iterate and improve.

How do you identify the best products out of millions for content creation? How do we combine explicit information about an associates's preferences (products with referred sales) with implicit sources (what customers referred by associates purchased)? How should we use Machine Learning to build optimal recommender systems? How can we exploit the rich structure of Amazon's catalog to build semantic recommendations? How can we optimize our algorithms for new product launches?

The successful candidate will be a seasoned engineer who has worked in the areas of machine learning, data mining, search or recommender systems. She/he will be an experienced developer of services and thrive on tackling some very hard problems. She/he is passionate about quality, consistency, maintainability, performance, security and all the other things that make great software great. She/he has strong leadership qualities, great judgment, clear communication skills and a track record of delivering projects of significant impact. She/he ensures that the software is evolving in the right long term direction while bringing value to customers iteratively.
