Job Description

Developers write code to enhance the product or resolve issues with the product. This position will work on the development, maintenance and design of Line of Business applications that serve the public sector. It will require the ability to work in agile teams consisting of developers, quality assurance analysts and business analysts. In addition, this position will require the ability to work with other technical and non-technical teams to resolve issues within the product. We are looking for intelligent, motivated individuals who like to take ownership of their work and, most importantly, love to write code that makes a difference to the lives of the end users of the application.

Responsibilities

Technical Skills

* Experience with one or more programming languages
* Good understanding of one or more database management systems, eg. SQL Server or Oracle
* Ability to write, debug and optimize procedural programming concepts
* Experience with one or more source control tools, eg. VSS, Plastic SCM etc.
* Experience with designing and developing enterprise software and understanding of design patterns
* Ability to understand technical problems and use the tools available (primarily programming languages) to solve them in a manner that is scalable and maintainable taking all variables into account

Qualifications

* BS/BA degree in related field or equivalent experience is desired.
* Strong understanding of Object Oriented Design.
* Extremely strong problem solving/analytic abilities applicable to troubleshooting complex and abstract problems while discovering realistic solutions.

* Deep understanding and advanced skill set with an OO language.
* Experience in C# and .NET or Java.
* Experience with SQL.
* Desire to work in fast-paced agile environment.
* Ability to work on multiple projects at once and switch contexts quickly.
