Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Our team is part of the Oracle Management Cloud (OMC) organization, determined to automate the work of managing critical applications and computing resources in production. OMC is a new product comprised of a suite of applications and a unified model, all built on a modern cloud architecture utilizing modular and scalable microservices. Our team is developing the next generation Application Performance Management (APM) as a holistic solution that aims to cover all aspects of applications management and quality of service.

Summary:

We are looking for a system developer with strong industry experience in middleware tech stacks and a commanding understanding of scalable applications systems architecture. If you are great at problem solving and have natural deductive reasoning skills, you will find plenty of opportunity with us to apply them to high value features. This is a system software design and development position that will help shape the future direction of our product(s) with respect to monitoring and diagnostics of complex distributed heterogeneous applications, including Big Data.

Candidate must meet the following requirements:

* Experienced in developing and supporting high traffic production applications
* Proven ability to design and implement complex systems functionality factoring in the required instrumentation for diagnosing functional and performance issues.
* Skilled coding and troubleshooting in Java and other modern programming languages (e.g. Ruby, Node.js, Go, C#, Python, etc.)
* Working knowledge of networking concepts, operating systems, multi-threading, virtualization, profiling, load testing.
* A great team player with effective communication skills
* Familiarity in monitoring, diagnostics/profiling or systems management products is a great advantage
* Knowledge of Bytecode instrumentation or AOP (Aspect oriented programming) is a plus
