Recommending products to Amazon customers - yes, that is the space that we work in at Amazon Personalization. We focus on understanding customer intent from their actions and tailor their shopping experience based on that intent. It is a hard problem that we don't always get right. For example: Just because someone bought a purple dress does not mean they want purple accessories too. Just because they usually buy one brand doesn't mean they do not want to explore other brands. We combine our understanding of customer intent with UI experience to delight each and every customer even when we are wrong. While there are lots of recommendation systems out there, none of them enjoy the scale and diversity of worldwide customers and rapidly changing and ever increasing product selection.

You're an engineer who is obsessed with creating great customer experiences.
