Consumers are projected to take over a trillion photos and videos, and Amazon Photos is one of Amazon's newest and fastest growing Prime benefits. We provide unlimited, original resolution photo storage for Prime members who now have a simple, secure place to store their existing collections of photos, automatically upload new photos as they are taken, and access them anytime, anywhere, at no additional cost.

The Amazon Photos Sharing & Growth team is looking for a Software Development Engineer who is passionate about designing and creating services to power amazing sharing customer experiences. As a key member of this team, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and build new core features based on Amazon Photos technology and AWS services. You will have a visible impact in helping customers enjoy and share their most cherished digital assets across iOS, Android, Web, Desktop, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, and Echo devices. We are building products that make it effortless for customers to protect what matters to them, no matter what device or platform that the content lives on.

In this role you will be responsible for creating world-class production systems to power Amazon Photos. You must be willing to insist on the highest standards for quality, maintainability, and performance. You will ensure that engineering best practices are followed and that software is designed to be responsive, reliable and maintainable.

Responsibilities:

* Contribute best-in-class programming skills to develop highly scalable systems to power innovative customer facing features.
* Write clean, maintainable code and perform peer code-reviews.
* Work with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility
* Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software against aggressive schedules
* Establish architectural principles, select design patterns and then mentor team members on their appropriate application
* Help define and implement standards and promote best practices for the Amazon Photos Sharing & Growth development team.
* Analyze and optimize applications to maximize speed and scale.
