Overview

The Software Asset Management Analyst (SAMA), working with and under the direction of the Manager Asset Management supports the daily and long-term strategic management and reconciliation of software licenses within the association. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software licenses and software maintenance contracts to ensure compliance. This role will work closely with procurement to understand, and capture purchases prior to Purchase Orders creation, read, comprehend and store End User License Agreements (EULA) and ensure the proper Unit of Measure and details are included on all Purchase Orders. The individual shall analyze and provide input to strategies to optimize software technology spend across the organization. The SAMA will also communicate, develop and monitor effectiveness of process and procedures for software assets and monitor quality control throughout Software lifecycles.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities incude but are not limited to:

* Collaborate with Procurements, Contract Management and Legal and provide input and review of software purchases
* Record software licenses (Entitlement) and software maintenance contracts to ensure compliance
* Analyze & approve software requests based on recorded entitlements and software use (deployments)
* Define and document software tracking methodologies
* Read, understand and document software contract attributes, End User License Agreements (EULA), Product Use Rights (PUR) and other documents related to Software
* Perform internal vendor software application reconciliations (compare entitlements to usage)
* Assist with processes for control and inventory management to track accountability, identification, location, software maintenance contracts and lifecycle status
* Provides necessary data for conducting external vendor audits
* Other related work as assigned by Manager

Qualifications

Required Basic Qualifications:

* Degree and/or combination of degree and experience
* Associates
* 3 to 5 years software procurement, contract review, and licensing experience
* Familiarity with a SAM tool such as ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow Software, Aspera, etc
* Background in software sales or procurement experience helpful
* CSAM (Certified Software Asset Manager) or
* PCSLM (Practitioner Certificate in Software License Management)

Preferred Basic Qualifications:

* CAMP (Certified Asset Management Professional)
* Information Technology, Business, or other related field of study
* 4 year College Degree or Master's Degree
