Job Description

AI+R NExT (New Experiences & Technologies) is the big bet factory for Microsoft, charged with delivering new research powered technologies, products & experiences (e.g., foundational machine learning techniques like RESNET, next-gen experiences like Skype speech translation, bots, crypto) and businesses (e.g., Health, Silicon) for the company. Led by the Chief Product Officer of the org, we are a diverse team of cross-disciplinary experts - focused on accelerating and enhancing our organization's capabilities from conception to go-to-market execution.

This is unique opportunity for an experienced software developer/architect with a strong scientific/technical background and Microsoft development experience to play a critical role in our Microsoft Healthcare ambitions and beyond. Responsibilities range from leading technical due diligence and architectural brainstorming with potential strategic customers/partners, defining and executing our unique product planning process across our investments in key areas of healthcare (data and analytics platforms, precision medicine and more) to working closely with the Chief Architect of Microsoft Healthcare to further Microsoft's commitment to healthcare data interoperability.

Required:

* 8+ years of professional software development, with experience shipping multiple releases
* 3+ years' experience developing cloud-based solutions
* 3+ years of program or project or product management
* BS or better in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience

Preferred:

* Deep experience with Azure OR experience working in the healthcare IT domain. Bonus if both.
* High level of comfort with cloud services, full stack, and systems development
* Significant expertise in technical design
* High level of comfort engaging with senior executives from partners and customers

* Be the go-to technical resource for our planning, project and business development teams - especially in the areas of cloud/web services, machine learning, data analysis and visualization, business intelligence and related areas.
* Be the go-to technical resource for partnership discussions, technical evaluations and negotiations and be the first line representation for our technical capabilities in key presentations and meetings inside and outside the company
* Create and maintain best practices for high quality product engineering, development best practices and conduct architectural reviews
* Collaborate closely with the Chief Architect of Microsoft Healthcare and his team to further our interoperability and open source efforts
* Participate or lead concept development and rapid productization for proven concepts
* Provide guidance and consultation to portfolio projects (Healthcare and non-healthcare) on matters related to scale, shipping and other product development areas
* Be a key resource to our go-to-market and PR efforts, contributing to technical understanding and PR strategies
* Initiate, scope and undertake projects with multiple external partners and stakeholders
* Possess keen awareness and ability to stay abreast of upcoming technical trends and internal roadmaps
