Job Description

Who we are:

We're a tight-knit team in NY backed by the support of a global agency. We're into giant conceptual thinking just as much as we are finely crafted deliverables, thought and re-thought and then filtered through strategy and the power of data.

You'll like it here if you're more interested in collaborating with the world around you than forcing it to bend to your will. We're small enough that you have to act, have ideas, and make things. Though not required, it also helps if you can dance, or at least tell a good joke.

Who we are looking for:

POSSIBLE NY is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join a new, Agile Mobile Hub team that will embrace Design Thinking, Agile, and DevOps practices to create mobile software solutions for our largest client. The Agile Mobile Hub will leverage agile methodology and focus on rapid development of mobile solutions/applications. This Site Reliability Engineer will be part of the POSSIBLE team but will sit on-site with our client at their Union Square office. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, experience working with small development teams, and thrives in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary, team environment.

What you'll do:

* Design and deployment on cloud infrastructure (Azure and/or AWS).
* Create ultra-scalable and highly reliable software systems.
* Engage in and improve the whole life cycle of services from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.
* Perform deep dives into both systemic and latent reliability issues.

What you'll need:

* 4+ years of experience with Windows and/or Linux.
* Ability to write code/scripts using languages such as Python, Go, Ruby.
* Strong understanding of versioning and configuration management.
* Ability to understand distributed software architectures and troubleshoot them from infrastructure through application layers.
* Experience managing high-throughput, high-availability systems.
* Knowledge of networking protocols, including familiarity with TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, and DNS.
* Knowledge of monitoring systems and strategies for writing useful alerts.
* Performance tuning and optimization.
* Strong communication skills with ability to articulate and optimize solution based on the value to the user and the business.
