We currently have an immediate need for a System Integration Technician.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for system level integration and test of Microwave Communication Systems, ensuring electrical and physical compatibility to meet design, schedule and cost objectives. Perform Factory Acceptance Test.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Configure, program, test, and troubleshoot networks involving routing, switching, automatic failover, VPNs, voice, data and video circuits.
* Read and interpret complex system drawings including IP plans, T1/E1/DS3/E3 plans, channel plans, block and level, and network management interface.
* Interface with configuration engineering, network engineering, sales and planning to ensure all aspects of the customer requirements are met.
* Perform factory acceptance tests (FATs), assists development of FATs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

* AA in Electronics or Computer Science and 2+ yrs. of experience
* In depth knowledge in wireless and data communications networks (PDH, SONET, SDH and Ethernet).
* Solid understanding of IP networking.
* Understanding of WAN protocols - SONET, PPP, HDLC, ATM
* Understanding of LAN protocols - VRRP, Spanning Tree, Ethernet, VLAN.
* Good communications skills (oral and written)
* Desire to grow and learn new technologies.
* Work effectively in a dynamic and changing environment.
* Self-motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision.
* Good decision-making abilities.
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite software.
* Experience with IP Addressing to include subnetting
* Experience in troubleshooting router, switch and fault tolerant redundant environments, configurations, troubleshooting and hardware maintenance.
* Diversified technical and practical knowledge of microwave telecommunication systems.
* Experience with project management in general.
