Job Description

Role Summary:In this role, you will serve as an individual contributor on a GE Asset Management project team, working under the direct supervision of the Engineering Team Lead and other team members on projects. As a Services Analyst you will understand the customers business goals and apply customer requirements to software configuration for Smallworld GIS and Mobile Enterprise projects.

Essential Responsibilities:You will contribute to software requirements gathering, development of software application configurations, data extraction/transformation/loading, and integration into enterprise systems.

In this role, you will:

Contribute to the implementation of Smallworld GIS and Mobile Enterprise solutions for utility and telecommunication customers in North America.

Contribute to technical analysis activities, such as requirements gathering, gap analysis of user requirements, and data migration needs.

Perform source system data analysis to manage source to target data mapping.

Own ETL, data mapping and data integration during the entire lifecycle of the projects.

Facilitate the loading and extraction of data.

Engage throughout the full lifecycle of assigned projects, participating in decisions on architecture, design, and functionality to keep programs on track in terms of budget, time, and customer expectations.

Effectively leverage product capability, driving standardization, limiting customization, and maximizing reuse of content developed for previous solutions.

Interact with Product Development Team, Commercial Team, Customers, Solution Providers (Partner / Integrators), and other cross-functional teams as required for the solution.

Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with peers and team members as an inclusive team member, supporting pre-sale strategy, services consulting efforts, and project execution.

Develop best practice, processes, and standards for effectively carrying out data migration and ETL activities.

Effectively apply Agile execution methodology and project standards.

Maintain & continuously update technical skills and knowledge.

Work independently as well as part of the team.

Apply Test Driven Development practices to all Software Development work.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or Advanced Diploma in GIS. No experience needed

Eligibility Requirements:

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job

Must be willing to travel 25%

Must be willing to work out of an office located in Denver CO

Desired Characteristics:

Software skills in software analysis, design, quality assurance, methodology, and architecture

Programming experience in software development with Magik or other object-oriented languages

Experience with Smallworld, ESRI, SQL, or PostGIS databases

Experience with non-spatial relational databases

Strong technical aptitude with the ability to analyze, integrate, and migrate data

Demonstrated ability to learn new software development practices, languages, and tools

Strong spoken and written English language skills

Technical Expertise:

Demonstrates ability to diagnose and solve basic to intermediate issues; Able to isolate moderately complex scenarios down to actionable items within designated job function; Can be utilized to problem solve at customer sites as the GE representative.

Regularly updates product knowledge to understand new features and limitations; Understands the primary competitors and partners in the product space; Understands the go to market strategy and positioning of products.

Able to write functioning code in at least one relevant programming language; Understands, uses and modifies code written by others; Able to translate complex requirements and interaction design accurately into functioning code.

Demonstrates experience and familiarity with product documentation processes, authoring tools, research skills, and advanced awareness of approaches for different audiences; Able to create full document sets to support a project or writes user-focused stories, conceptual information.

Business Acumen:

Goes above and beyond for the customer; builds a good customer relationship to best understand customer needs.

Exhibits an understanding of customer enterprise - as well as interdependencies between departments; Demonstrates ability to interact with influencers, stakeholders, and decision makers as part of a larger customer account plan.

Understands that designing, developing and deploying products and services for infrastructure-level domains requires attention to the complex behavior and relationship within and between systems.

Leadership:
