The Global team is part of the Customer Success Engineering organization in the Devices + Experiences product group. The team's goal is to enable global experience and local relevance in all our products. We achieve this by delivering services that enhance customer's productivity in today's cross cultural global economy and support the fast delivery of our products worldwide. The services we deliver have a significant cross-company footprint extending beyond Windows and Office products, providing the infrastructure backbone for the delivery of international software and content across Microsoft. Our platform powers all of Microsoft's key businesses - Azure, Office 365, XBOX and Windows to name just a few. In Global you will have the opportunity to impact the company's ability to ship our various platforms, applications and content worldwide. We play a vital role in Microsoft'ss ability to ship every piece of software and every help article, documentation page, or marketing description that our customers read. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the services (design, develop, quality, oversee production deployment, service availability & reliability). You will ensure that our services meet all availability, reliability and latency requirements. You will manage, automate, and make data-based decisions and judgment calls which influence the customer experience and the efficiency of the business. You will also be driving performance and reliability from software and infrastructure standpoints.

Basic Requirements:

3+ years software development experience with at least 2 years using C#.

Other Requirements:

Experience in online services preferred.

Experience in testing, deploying and supporting large scale services on Azure, AWS or similar environments.

Excellent SQL programming and administration skills

Good PowerShell programming skills.

A BS/MS in Computer Science is strongly preferred

Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, reliability, scalability, latency, security, resiliency, and efficiency of a service.

Contribute to debugging and troubleshooting the complete stack of a service and drive analysis of an outage; write software and build automation to resolve problems permanently.

Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning.

Participate actively in code reviews, bug/issue triage with the feature teams, and support well-informed decisions towards business and engineering goals.

Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods for operating services and systems; assess design and code changes to drive improvements.

Conduct periodic on-call duties
