Job Description

The National Fire Protection Association's mission is to help save lives and reduce loss with information, knowledge and passion. Dedicated to the elimination of death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards, the Association delivers information and knowledge through more than 300 consensus codes and standards, research, training, education, outreach and advocacy; and by partnering with others who share an interest in furthering the NFPA mission.

NFPA's Marketing and Digital Experience Team is searching for an SEO Specialist! This role will be responsible for developing a keyword strategy for nfpa.org and other supporting websites, as well as analyzing our current website and implementing the keyword strategy. The SEO Specialist is also responsible for continuously monitoring and testing new keywords in order to improve traffic and page ranking. A Little Bit About You:

* You have strong SEO knowledge and experience, including utilizing modern SEO techniques.
* With a content marketing background, you are well-versed in writing for SEO.
* Utilizing your strong analytical skills, you are able to make sense of various data sets from multiple systems including Google Analytics
* Speaking of Google, you have a strong working knowledge of Google Tag Manager, as well as how Google and other search engines work.
* You have knowledge of SiteCore, Percolate and similar Content Management Systems
* You remain cool, calm, and collected while trouble shooting and solving problems.
* With a keen sense of prioritization, you're able to manage complex projects from stakeholders of varying levels.
* A confident and effective communicator, you are able to convey messages to colleagues at all levels of the Association.
* You are positively curious and want to understand the mission and goals of NFPA, and how you can make an impact as part of our team.
* You own your role and take responsibility for your output, following through, and understand that mistakes happen and can be learned from.

The Nitty Gritty:

* Review and analyze nfpa.org to identify opportunities.
* Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop an effective keyword strategy
* Utilizing Google Analytics, generate keyword reports to identify areas of success, as well as to pinpoint areas where improvements can be made
* Utilize data to make site changes and tag pages with proper keywords
* Partner with content developers as a guide them to create content with search in mind
