Business Insider is looking for an SEO Fellow to join our growing Insider Picks commerce team.
As more and more people shop online, it's Insider Picks' job to sift through the millions of products out there to highlight the few that will add value to our readers' lives.
We are looking for an analytically-oriented, web-loving person to join one of our fastest growing teams. As an SEO Fellow, you will help our reviews rank #1 in Google by ensuring that our articles are perfectly structured for organic search and analyzing traffic, competitors, and internal/external links. You will be a part of deciding which titles we use, balancing search data with creating clickable titles. You should be fluent in Excel, comfortable with large data sets, and have a strong interest in e-commerce and the internet. Prior familiarity with SEO, audience development, or other search marketing is a bonus but not essential. SEMrush, Google Analytics, our CMS, and Excel will be a few of the tools you'll use (or learn to use).
Insider Picks is our affiliate marketing team which reviews thousands of products - ranging from clothing to technology to credit cards - to give our readers unbiased insights and help them purchase the perfect product for them. Google organic is a key source of traffic for us, and we need to ensure we rank as well as possible but also have titles that sound enticing to readers so they visit our site. That's where you will come in!
The desired internship duration would be 3-6 months.
* Use tools like SEMrush to help the editorial teams ensure our pages are optimized for organic search
* Monitor our page rankings
* Analyze our competitor's titles and metadata
* Identify new ways to serve our readers by looking at search data for patterns
* Excellent with Excel and comfortable with large data sets, but also strong written skills (to balance data with creating compelling, clickable content titles)
* Knowledge of SEO preferred
* Fluency in English
* Interest in media, audience development/marketing, and e-commerce
