Senior Web Engineer

Work you'll do

As a Studio Senior in our practice you will:

* Serve as an integrator between business needs and technology solutions, helping to create technology solutions to meet clients' business needs
* Perform project tasks independently, and may direct the efforts of others
* Participate in or lead the development of client deliverable content
* Anticipate client needs and formulate solutions to client issues
* Review deliverables for accuracy and quality
* Provide coaching to junior staff
* Contribute to new business proposals
* Manage own personal and professional development, seeking opportunities for expansion of consulting skills and experiences
* Clearly and concisely communicate highly technical challenges and solutions to both clients and non-technical team members
* Maintain high standards of quality as you creatively and strategically problem solve throughout the product delivery process

Be able to effectively communicate your work with both technical and non-technical peers
* Be excited about new web technologies/techniques
* Build solid responsive/adaptive web applications that integrate easily with other systems and technologies
* Understand design patterns and write reusable, modular code
* Love working closely with both design and quality assurance
* Have a solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions
* Be passionate about helping to mentor and grow other engineers

Qualifications

Required

* Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of technology consulting or other relevant industry experience
* Experience working independently with minimal supervision and guidance
* Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising mature judgment
* Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
* Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
* Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools, as well as Internet research tools
* Up to 10% travel required
* Must be able to obtain and maintain required clearance for this role
* Minimum of 6 years building modern web applications/sites in a professional environment
* Minimum of 5 years in semantic HTML5 and CSS3, and comfortable with preprocessors
* Minimum of 4 years with JavaScript preferably with AngularJS
* At least 1 year experience with server-side languages (NodeJS, PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, C#, etc.)
* Experience deploying to AWS or other clouds

Desired

* Previous professional services or consulting experience
* Comfortable with version control, preferably Git
* Knowledge of techniques and methodologies around responsive design and development
* Experience with creating cross-platform applications with Ionic
* Background in user experience and/or design
* Experience working in an agile environment
* Involvement in open source projects
* Experience customizing Content Management Systems
