QA Lead Responsibilities

Chubb's Personal Risk Services IT group is seeking a highly motivated engineer possessing a strong background in Quality Engineering and Test Automation with the ability to operate in a fast-paced dynamic environment. As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, the ideal candidate brings technical leadership and strategic thinking to lead the transformation of test automation for our Personal Risk Services Quality Engineering team. This candidate has a deep knowledge of automation frameworks, techniques and commercially available tools. Your job is to drive as much automation as possible and maintain our high quality standards while identifying ways to raise that bar higher. The Senior Test Automation Engineer will play a key role in delivering highly available "always on" applications and high quality products for our personal insurance business partners, internal users and end customers.

Key objectives for the position:

* Leads the modernization of the test automation strategy and best practices, recommends tools/technologies and develops the test automation transformation road map
* Drives the implementation of end-to-end test automation
* Mentors team members on test automation tools, techniques and best practices
* Supports team members in evaluation of test automation opportunities and tool selection
* Takes ownership and collaborates with Product Managers/Owners, Architects, Software Engineers and Quality Engineers to develop the best automated solutions and improve time to market while ensuring project quality goals are achieved
* Interacts with value streams and participates in planning sessions to provide input on test automation strategies, dependencies and schedules
* Plans, coordinates and leads activities related to quality engineering to ensure program increment and sprint commitments are met
* Leads the troubleshooting of problems in test automation development and execution
* Ensures compliance with software quality engineering policies and standards

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field.

* At least 10 years of experience within a total Information Technology (IT) environment
* At least 5 years of experience in quality engineering
* At least 3 years of experience in designing and developing automation frameworks with expertise in front and back-end test automation architecture, methodologies, processes and tools for web, desktop and mainframe applications
* 2 years' experience in an agile development environment preferred
* Broad technical background preferably with Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Smalltalk, SQL, micro services and mainframe technologies
* Expertise in Selenium, SoapUI, Junit, BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin) and UFT
* Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, SonarQube, and JIRA preferred
* Expertise in service virtualization preferred
* Proven ability to operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment while delivering high-quality work on tight schedules
* Proven analytical and problem solving skills with strong ability to challenge the status quo
* Strong leadership skills including experience in leading local and global vendor partner resources
* Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
* Experience in financial services information technology industry highly desired
