Role SummaryThe Senior Telecommunications Engineer participates in the design of complex voice and telecommunication networks hardware and software configurations, which typically span multiple business functions and geographic locations. The individual also monitors the installation, maintenance and operations of these networks. This technology thought leader is responsible for planning, acquisition, implementation and upgrades of communications systems and software. Supports, maintains and troubleshoots telecommunications systems with a high availability and continuity of business mindset. Maintains and configures functioning applications for the end-user telecom system with a solutions and user experience mindset. Modifies, repairs and conducts preventative maintenance on telecommunication equipment and related systems for MSG owned systems and works proactively with service providers for 'as a service' platforms. Troubleshoots problems with assigned systems to identify and resolve issues. Responsible for new system implementations and upgrades - including methods and process for operationalizing telecommunications investments. Maintains and configures associated applications for the end-user telecom system - ensures that users are trained on the platform. Specific Functions/Activities Summary

* telecommunication systems inclusive of voice, video and mobile platforms.
* Designs the operational process and tools to ensure that all telecom investments are moved into production properly, the operations teams know how to support them and that the appropriate tools are in place to monitor telecommunications solutions.
* Responsible for capacity management and release management planning for all systems - designs the testing procedures for new releases and working with third party vendors to ensure the readiness of new releases.
* Responsible for the lifecycle management of the voice and video platforms - works with the OEMs and service providers to ensure that all MSG solutions are technically relevant, technical currency is maintained and that appropriate lifecycle approaches are applied.
* Responsible for Level 3 support of all technical issues - engages with the technical support teams, third party suppliers and OEMs to ensure that all issues are resolved promptly and within pre-defined SLAs.
* Owns the technical relationship with assigned vendors and partners - drives the mentality of continuous improvement into the support and delivery processes with a metrics and measurement mindset.
* Partners proactively with the business to understand new needs and issues - plans for the implementation of requests and enhancements consist with new business requests.
* Market thought leader whom stays ahead of new market trends - integrates all telecommunications platforms into the defined end user experience strategy and stays ahead of the technology curve.
* Acts as the subject matter expert and technical drive for implementations in the VoIP, SIP, POTS, Unified Communications, Video and communications application space across all adopted MSG platforms.

Qualifications

* 8-10 years of experience supporting diverse voice and telecommunications platforms including Cisco and Avaya.
* 5-7 years experience working with service providers and carriers within the telecom space - understands how to implement and enforce SLAs and other metrics.
* 3-5 years experience working with Microsoft on the Skype for Business/Teams unified communications platform - has implemented the technology in the past.
* 5-7 years experience supporting complex network solutions such as trunking, SIP, voice gateways, PBX and key systems.
* Experience with ACD call setup and CMS reporting - must be hands on keyboard.
* 5+ years of general routing and switching network experience - primarily with Cisco and Palo Alto technologies.
* Bachelors degree high preferred

EducationCandidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
