Job Description

Prime Video is changing the way millions of customers across the globe interact with video content. The Prime Video team delivers high-quality video to Amazon customers through subscriptions, purchases, and rentals; we believe so deeply in the mission of Amazon Video that we 've launched our own studio to create original and exclusive content. Every day we face the challenges of a fast paced market and expanding technology set - we're surrounded by opportunity.

Do you enjoy playing with the coolest mobile phones, tablets, and living room devices? Are you passionate about innovating and building mobile applications that can delight millions of customers across the globe? Do you want to own and lead technically challenging programs? Are you excited at the idea of having the freedom and encouragement to explore your own ideas...and the reward of seeing your contributions benefit millions of Amazon.com customers worldwide?

If you answered yes to all these questions, we'd love to have you on the Prime Video team.

The Prime Video Mobile team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead high-impact programs to provide our global customers access to a broad variety of movies and TV shows, on mobile devices. Our team drives complex business problems, leveraging both company-wide platform solutions as well as designing them from the ground up where they don't exist. We build global technology solutions, going beyond localization to providing customized compelling content to customers in each country where we operate. Not only must our software scale, but it must adapt to conditions ranging from steady home broadband connections to more variable mobile connections.

You will lead and coordinate design/implementation efforts between internal teams and outside merchants and vendors to develop optimal solutions. You will be expected to make appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams.

The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, and have a well-rounded technical background in current mobile, living room, and web technologies. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities include working with product management to define strategy and requirements, identifying and securing commitment from teams across the company for new initiatives, driving consensus on the technical approach, setting timelines, and leading cross-functional development teams from design through delivery. You'll need to be a strong project manager with technical and business acumen as well as an excellent communicator -- whether working with developers or providing updates to business leadership.

The ideal candidate is an influential leader with a knack for getting things done. This individual is able to separate what's important from what's urgent and find the best path forward from among multiple scenarios, earn the trust of stakeholders, and improve the efficiency of our cross-functional organization.
