We are looking for experienced Technical Program Managers to join an exciting team. We are building a dedicated organization focused on owning and driving the relationship between application/service teams within Amazon.com and the Amazon Web Services (AWS) division. In this exciting new role you will have the opportunity to work across the company and learn how our tech teams are building and architecting our newest innovations while at the same time learning about AWS' latest product offerings.
In this job you will have the following roles to play:
Customer Advocate - As the service team's primary contact for cloud adoption and usage, you will represent them as a key stakeholder and carry their goals around adopting AWS as a platform. This is an opportunity to inform AWS' roadmap by identifying technical blockers and new feature opportunities. You must be able to engage with both technical and business teams to collect and refine requirements, prioritize incoming work requests, and ensure all committed work is delivered on time. As such, you must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and must be capable of tracking multiple concurrent projects, negotiating resourcing changes, and driving consensus.
Product Owner - While each service team owns its own set of products, as a Cloud Adoption TPM, you are uniquely positioned to look across Amazon.com's service teams and identify architectural or financial inefficiencies that can be exploited to serve customers' needs inside the team as well as sharing them to the wider company. You must be able to understand the technical underpinnings of the various systems and use cases and use those to map to customer requirements, and determine which new features and products must be developed to meet demand. You must have deep technical knowledge, including the design of highly scalable systems, to determine the technological feasibility of proposed products, as well as a strong business background to assess economic viability.
Program Manager - This program cuts across multiple technology groups. You will act as a central point, owning the definition, execution, and delivery of the portion of this program as they affect teams both inside and outside of AWS. You will take on goals related to financial and operational efficiencies and be responsible for ensuring that these are tracked accordingly.
Technology Evangelist - The role is also about educating the internal Amazon teams on the power of AWS and its new offerings. As a single point of contact for AWS cloud strategy you must be able to establish relationships and good working rapport with these internal service teams, assess their needs, articulate their requirements and ultimately work to enhance the agility and operational performance of your assigned team's services.
