Job Description

Position Summary:

Crystal Dynamics is seeking a Senior Technical Designer that has a passion for scripting, firefighting, improving workflow pipelines, and solving tough technical design challenges. We're looking for creative candidates with a technical aptitude to build the foundations, infrastructure, and tools our designers use to build fun and exciting levels and player experiences.

Essential Duties:

* Implement game features based on designs using our internal tools.
* Define and redefine workflows, improving the efficiency of other Designers.
* Support the level design team as a technical resource for new design tools and systems.
* Build tools and other workflow improvements for other designers to make great gameplay content.
* Work across development teams to conceptualize, prototype, continually iterate, balance and tune features and gameplay based on feedback.
* Be an advocate of the tool base and suggest/implement improvements to internal pipelines where it makes sense.
* Contribute to the implementation of gameplay solutions in the game environment.
* Advocate for clear and consistent documentation.
* Proactively identify design workflow issues and prescribe solutions.

Essential Requirements:

* 7+ years of experience in a level or systems design role with at least one shipped AAA console title, preferably as a Senior Designer.
* Expertise with visual scripting tools; strong scripting experience.
* Experience with level editors and game engines.
* Strong collaboration and communication skills.
* Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

Pluses:

* Programming experience a plus (C/C++).
* A portfolio or samples of previous work and/or tools may be requested to be considered for this role.*
