Job Description

Whole Foods Market is looking for a talented Windows Server Team Leader to lead a successful team of Windows Server and VMWare engineers. The incumbent will provide design, thought leadership and drive implementation of server technologies with experience leading a team of technical subject matter experts. The incumbent will be creative, strategically oriented, focused on delivery excellence, and committed to empowering the Team.

This position will be based with the Global Technology Team in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities

* Inspire, challenge, and lead a team of engineers.
* Develop architectural standards and best practices in design and development of server infrastructure.
* Create patterns that foster improved designs with application teams.
* Drive service automation and delivery mechanisms.
* Recognize opportunities to raise the capability bar and drive that change.
* Plan and manage a budget.
* Maintain vendor relationships.
* Evaluate emerging Windows Server and related technology capabilities for inclusion to our tech stack.
* Balance multiple projects.
* Maintain and enhance infrastructure security.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
* 3+ years of Windows Server Team Leadership experience.
* Windows Server 2016, Server 2019, ESXi, and AWS EC2 experience.
* Previous architecture, design, and engineering experience.
* In-depth knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures related to Windows Server, VMware, and cloud infrastructure management.
* Proven analytical problem solving and debugging skills.
* Experience in troubleshooting and resolving system integrity issues, performance issues, and vulnerability management.
* Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Partner with Infrastructure and Application Team Leadership.
