Senior Tableau and Microstrategy Administrator

Location: Plano, TX

Duration: 6 months with possible extension

Description:

The client is seeking a BI Administrator, experienced atleast on Tableau and Microstrategy, other BI tools like Business Objects is a plus, to be responsible for the administration of core systems as well as monitoring and repair of high performance computing systems. Ensures consistent and reliable operation including enterprise servers and network infrastructure. Be a part of production support team to provide platform and infrastructure support for key BI Platforms: Microstrategy and Tableau.

Job Responsibilities:

Provides wide ranging system administration in a multi-platform environment

Responsible for general systems administration tasks including system configuration management, OS installations, security updates, urgent system patching

Writes and implements scripts to automate tasks

Ability to identify and troubleshoot hardware components that are problematic

Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, network disruption awareness and predefined key processes

Reviews system logs, application logs and security logs

Provides Production support to BI platforms

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required

10+ years experience required

Proven work experience as a system or network administrator

Specialized:

* Perform installation, migration and upgrade of Tableau and Microstrategy Servers and client tools under High Availability scenario
* Perform performance analysis of existing Tableau and Microstrategy Servers and make Best Practice recommendations
* Configure options like SSL, SSO, AD , proxy etc. on the Tableau and Microstrategy Server.
* Provide Level 2 support to user community on various Tableau and Microstrategy Server and Desktop issues
* Excellent understanding of Active Directory, DNS, Load Balancer and Network firewall
