Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description

This highly visible position will be responsible for defining the long-term vision for IAA's technological direction and evolving IAA's Enterprise Architecture. The position will work closely with the Systems Manager and other System Engineers to develop and implement a long-term strategy for the enterprise to ensure the systems and the team are operating at maximum efficiency. The candidate will provide technical leadership on application projects to ensure the application team delivers integrated business and technology solutions that meets the customer's needs.

The Sr. Systems Engineer must develop a thorough understanding of the application and electronic products' business requirements, as well as communicate the long-term Enterprise Architecture vision and its current implementation, and identify and execute the migration strategy. Additionally, the Systems Engineer must keep up with the current state of client, server and Web technologies, and share that knowledge with peers and application teams. This position reports to the Manager of Systems Engineering and Storage.

Requirements:

* Hands on experience with implementation, configuration and troubleshooting of complex Windows 2008, 2012, 2016, & 2019 systems.
* Hands on experience with implementation, configuration and troubleshooting of Linux systems. CentOS/Redhat preferred
* Experience automating repetitive tasks with Powershell, PowerCLI, vbscript and WMI.
* Minimum of 5 years experience with Active Directory to include GPO implementation and deployment in an enterprise environment.
* Minimum of 4 year experience managing backup environments. Rubrik highly preferred
* Minimum of 4 years experience with VMware vSphere 5.x or higher. vSphere 6.7 highly preferred
* Minimum of 4 years experience with SAN arrays. Pure and Netapp highly preferred
* Minimum of 4 years experience with SAN fabric. MDS and Brocade highly preferred
* Minimum of 3 years experience architecting, implementing, and managing complex solutions.
* Thorough understanding of enterprise-wide software development.
* Experience managing IaaS/PaaS in AWS or Azure
* Experience implementing and managing disaster recovery solutions. SRM Preferred.
* Experience with managing Cisco UCS server hardware.
* Able to rapidly absorb and implement new technologies, platforms and procedures.
* Working knowledge of TCP/IP.
* Ability to mentor junior staff.
* Define and evolve infrastructure for client, server and Web applications.
* Experience with high volume web sites and large scale information management.
* Ability to prepare and maintain project plans and related technical documentation is required.

Qualifications:

* Candidate must have a 4-year degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of two years prior experience in information systems.
* Certifications in any of the following (or equivalent experience) preferred: MCSA, MCSE, MCSM, VCP, VCAP, or VCDX. Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with the architecture/DBA/system engineer teams, application teams and clients is required.
* Organization and time management skills are critical.
