Job Description

Are you a Systems Engineer with 5 years of experience?

Are you interested in the challenges of defining new Electronic Warfare Systems?

If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL.

We are seeking a Systems Engineer who will drive requirement development for Navy Surface Electronic Warfare programs using industry-standard tools such as DOORS and MagicDraw. You must also be an excellent communicator and result driven, since the team supporting the effort is geographically diverse and spread across multiple government organizations.

As a Systems Engineer...

* Your primary responsibility will be leading and directly contributing to requirements development and management.
* You will utilize delegation and project management skills to collaborate with and lead multiple government teams in the development of non-functional requirements which will then be merged into cohesive artifacts.
* You will utilize model-based techniques to develop functional requirements in support of multiple surface electronic warfare projects, and coordinate modelers across multiple government organizations to ensure that all capabilities are developed.
* You will proactively communicate requirement gaps to management and initiate discussions across multiple government organizations to fill them.
* You will pioneer automations in requirement development and requirement management using cutting-edge systems engineering tools.

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

* Have a Bachelors' Degree in one of the following specializations:
* Systems Engineering
* Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering
* Mechanical Engineering
* Applied Physics/Mathematics
* Computer Science
* Electrical Engineering


* Or related technical discipline
* Have 5 or more years of Systems Engineering experience including requirement development and system integration
* Are proficient with requirement management tools such as DOORS as well as MS Office


* Are eligible for, or already hold an active Secret DoD security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.



You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have...

* Experience with DOORS Extensible Language scripting (DXL)
* Experience with MBSE tools, particularly MagicDraw, and supporting packages including Merge, Teamwork Server / Teamwork Cloud, SysML, UPDM/DoDAF
* Experience driving requirement development with MBSE processes.
* Experience with DoD/Navy project development, especially PEO/IWS.
* A Masters' Degree in any of the areas mentioned above.
