Job Description

SAIC is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Fort Belvoir, VA. The ideal candidate shall provide dedicated advisory and assistance services (A&AS) support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Nuclear Enterprise Support Directorate, Nuclear Stockpile Operations Division. This Systems Engineer is a senior level, casual status position to assist on a broad range of information technology-based special projects as needed. The qualified individual will serve as the subject matter expert supporting various information system engineering efforts for the DTRA Stockpile Management Systems (DSMS) program to provide specialized expertise and experience, and help ensure successful project execution.

Primary duties include:

* Provide program management and technical support for planning, developing and refining life-cycle system designs and documentation


* Apply extensive background expertise and experience to provide highly targeted support and solutions effectively and efficiently for broad based projects


* Support cyber and technology initiatives


* Support one-off initiatives on an "as call" basis as needed

* Minimum 15 years relevant experience on diverse information technology DoD programs, with specific depth in project management, special projects, new technology introduction / lifecycle refresh, IT operations and cyber compliance


* B.A. or B.S. degree required
* Extensive background in all phases of information system planning, development, implementation, operations and support
* Proven track record to successfully address challenging problems, develop innovative solutions, and turn around projects experiencing problems or delays
* Ability to effectively communicate via written and oral means in understandable terms at all levels
* Ability to write assessment reports and presentations that can be understood at multiple levels, including briefing Department and senior leaders
* Ability to handle multiple tasks with little to no supervision
* Strong attention to detail
* Proven analytical, problem solving, and program management skills and expertise, including use of appropriate analysis tools
* Ability to collaborate across a diverse workforce to achieve the objectives
* Current DoD TS clearance
* Prior experience with DTRA IT programs and specifically within Nuclear Enterprise
