Job Summary:

The Senior System Integration Engineer will prepare for, compose, and execute system integration testing for SonoSite's new ultrasound products and follow-on releases. This is a hands-on position with the opportunity to work concurrently with design engineers from several functional groups to ensure our products maintain the highest quality standards. The position requires working knowledge of system software development processes for all phases of product realization in a regulated industry, preferably for diagnostic ultrasound devices. Qualified candidates will have previous system test and automation experience. Candidates should be curious about how our customers use our products; passionate about quality; and eager to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Improve robustness and quality of system software by driving integration and test activities throughout the product implementation phase
* Analyze component interactions and develop integration roadmaps and test plans for highly sophisticated medical ultrasound equipment
* Assess component and feature readiness for integration
* Develop/maintain integration test protocols to support the reduction of system defect discovery during formal verification
* Develop test infrastructure, tools, and scripts to automate system integration testing
* Produce test artifacts (plans, reports)
* Provide estimates of test resources required to complete projects
* Work with software, firmware, hardware, and mechanical developers to reproduce, analyze, and triage issues
* Utilize defect tracking software to manage defects identified during testing
* Participate in the hands-on diagnosis of issues which arise during the integration and testing process.
* Incorporate results from defect analysis into subsequent integration test cycles and process improvements
* Participate in team requirements and design reviews and use insight gained from integration testing to provide feedback that helps improve overall system quality and performance

Knowledge and Experience:

* BS degree in EE, CS, or related field from an ABET accredited institution
* 5+ years product development experience in design, systems, or test engineering
* 5+ years experience developing automated tests
* Demonstrated experience and expertise with a variety of software and scripting languages such as C++, Ruby, C#, or Python
* Demonstrated system-level understanding of complex electrical and mechanical devices (experience with diagnostic ultrasound equipment preferred)
* Significant experience and knowledge of pervasive software Operating Systems used in medical devices (Windows and Linux/Unix preferred)
* Significant experience with requirements management and analysis
* Experience with change tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
* Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Git, ClearCase)
* Significant experience with ISO, FDA, or other regulated product development environments desired
