Job Description

Cumulus Media | New York, NY is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer, Manager, IT Security who will directly be responsible for engineering and implementation of systems to monitor, detect and alert our IT organization of potential security threats and vulnerabilities in business systems, program origination systems, and infrastructure.

Position Summary:

* Monitoring for attacks and intrusions
* Direction of threat response. Coordinates and controls responses to Cyber incidents
* Performs forensic analysis of known security events
* Direction of external penetration testing to expose potential weakness
* Direction of the implementation of security counter-measures
* Responsible for maintenance and monitoring of endpoint protection and antimalware software
* Firewall and IPS troubleshooting, monitoring, deployment and administration
* Ensures compliance with regulations
* Communication of event status to company leadership
* Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Formal Education Required and/or Equivalent Experience:

* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
* 3-5 Years in Information Security operations

Training or Certifications Required:

* Certification(s) in the information security areas such as CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), Security+, CCNA, CEH, GCIH are desirable
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
* Continuing education to maintain knowledge on the latest systems and technology

Work Environment/Physical Activities:

* Office Environment
* Network Operations Centers
* 24x7 Network Operations Support
* Requires some weekend and evening shift work

Technical/Task Statements:

* Deep understanding of hacker approaches and ability to keep up with new developments in cybersecurity and emerging threats.
* Ability to assist others with technical anomalies and issue resolution.
* Capable of handling multiple emergency situations in calm and measured manner.
