The Nordstrom HR Technology team is in the process of implementing Workday HR/Payroll and has recognized a need for a senior level system analyst to support work required for initial delivery of the Workday solution and on-going support and enhancement activities. Initially, this SA will support work define/solution Workday configuration, define integration requirements, plan/execute testing, define/execute data conversion, define/execute implementation activities. This position will focus on Payroll and Compensation capabilities to deliver Workday Payroll.

The System Analyst within HR Technology is responsible for the configuration of software solutions; proposes, designs and implements solutions; has expertise across software delivery methodologies; working knowledge of analysis tools, techniques and methods; teaches and coaches others and has a deep understanding of system landscapes and data flows.

The Workday Payroll System Analyst will collaborate across workstreams (HCM, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking) with both Nordstrom and Nordstrom's Workday Implementation Vendor to design, configure, test and implement the best solutions to meet Nordstrom's business requirements. The SA will help identify risks, issues and dependencies along with mitigations and solution options; work in an operating model that employs Agile practices to effectively deliver technology solutions, enhancements and operational support ongoing; trains and mentors other SAs on Workday configuration.

A day in the life…

* Leads software configuration design, build, testing and deployment in agile project cycle
* Serves as key resource in coordinating software changes across internal and external teams, ensuring quality of software and acts as gatekeeper of change control
* Effectively communicates by articulating messages in a way that is easily understood and can adjust content and style to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders
* Performs root cause analysis to quantify impact and identify permanent resolutions to application or business process issues
* Performs foundational maintenance and sustainment processes
* Creates and maintains documentation needed in support of system requirements, designs, test, functionality, etc.
* Manages small to medium sustainment projects

You own this if you have…

* 5+ years professional experience in software delivery and configuration
* Experience with HR Technology solutions within an ecommerce or retail environment preferred
* 3+ years' experience with Workday configuration required
* BA/BS degree or suitable work experience as an Analyst
* Understanding of software development principals and methodologies
* Understanding of how to query and structure data to assist with data driven decisions and troubleshooting
* Ability to problem-solve and complete root cause analysis
* Ability to define, measure and analyze processes to identify improvement opportunities
* Ability to build relationships cross-functionally with multiple teams ranging from Engineering to Business and End Users
* Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
* Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
