Job Summary:

This role will be based in the Cognex Headquarters in Natick, MA, in Greater Boston. This position will assume responsibility for supporting Cognex's Active Directory and related technologies. Cognex's Active Directory is utilized across the globe; in this role the Administrator will maintain hybrid connection to Azure & Office 365 tenant. Additional focus of this position will involve extensive collaboration with platform teams, cloud providers, and internal stakeholders to align requirements. As a critical member of a global distributed IT team, this individual will be focused on all aspects of Active Directory and will work with other IT team members to help prioritize and solve challenges with Active Directory. This individual will perform in various support and planning roles on a multiple cross-functional project team where IT services are needed.

Essential Functions:

This position will be responsible for corporate Active Directory, Intune\System Center Configuration Manager and other services.

* Have a deep understanding of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policies, and Registry with a specific focus on security settings for these technologies
* Core skill set including industry knowledge of Active Directory migration, AD design and planning
* Mid-to-expert level knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services 2012R or higher
* Knowledge and experience working with Azure AD, including directory synchronization technologies
* Strong experience with PowerShell scripting and other command-line interfaces preferred
* 5+ years in an Information Systems field such as systems administrator, network engineer, or consultant, responsible for AD support, Active Directory consolidation. Proven ability to gather and assess business requirements, develop and present solution alternatives, produce design and migration strategy documents, provide guidance and knowledge transfer to client staff and test/implement approved design
* Identify and resolve AD health issues
* Plan for and perform forest and functional upgrades
* Integrate with teams supporting AD dependent applications on-premises and in the cloud
* Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Configuration manager for windows updates deployment.
* Work on IT projects and be able to see project from planning stages to completion.
* Work with new hardware and software technologies and be able to understand and learn said technologies to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) as needed
* Experience working with Microsoft Identity technologies including On Premise Active Directory, Azure AD, Multifactor Authentication, ADFS, & SSO / SAML.
* Experience with Azure Cloud Computing, Office 365, SharePoint, Enterprise Mobility, Intune

Essential Functions:

* BS in Computer Science or relevant discipline
* 5+ years in corporate IT environments
* Ability to translate technical issues into understandable business language for end users
* Team Player with proven leadership, communication, organizational, and strong interpersonal skills. The role requires significant interaction with many different teams across a global company.
* Self-motivated, with keen attention to detail and excellent judgment skills
* Ability to establish new standards for quality, performance or productivity
* Must have excellent writing and communication skills, strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, contractors, managers, 3rd parties, and customers as needed
* Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality
