Overall Purpose: Deliver the highest
level of network tech support within AT&T's tech support structure
requiring 24x7 on call from escalating organizations. Key Roles and
Responsibilities: Provides the technical troubleshooting and leadership skills
required to recover from the most complex network problems in real time,
directing the activities of tech resources from Tier-2, Labs, and the vendors
to restore service. Responsible for the investigation and management of all
follow-up activities needed to determine root cause, attempt problem recreation
in the lab, identify workarounds, delivery and certification of vendor fixes or
design changes, and plan for the implementation within the network. Develop
scripts to pro-actively identify known defect signatures and define the least
intrusive recovery processes. Develop scripts to extract forensic data from
network elements and analyze to identify patterns of unexpected behavior.
Responsible for the reliability of the end-to-end network and the quality of
the delivered service, tracking and analyzing outage patterns leading to
identification of chronic issues. AT&T's SME to customers. Responsible for
all equipment and software vendor management relationships, insuring objectives
are being met. Provides feedback during the negotiation of maintenance
contracts. Responsible for the final phase of planning and preparation for the
insertion of new technology and changes into the network. Review and signoff of
Lab designs. Design equipment and software certification testing. Development
and testing of the detailed methods and procedures for introduction of new
technology and the handoff to Tier-2 network Operations and Project Management
org for field implementation. Develop troubleshooting guides and deliver
knowledge transfer on new designs and technology. Gather and analyze relevant
network element field data to validate the expected improvements and features
of the field changes. Job Contribution: Technical professional with some
experience. Sound technical knowledge growing through application, expanding
knowledge of AT&T technologies.
Primary role is to be a
technical customer interface to the remote network support teams. Triaging
local network incidents, escalating to network support team where required.
Representing AT&T team during post-incident reviews, and network refresh/transformation
planning meetings. This role will become a subject matter expert for the
network infrastructure requirements of the OpCo, understanding their
connectivity to third parties, customers and business partners. They will
collaborate directly with the customer on issues, challenges and requests,
converting business requirements to technical requests.
Although not directly responsible for resolving incidents, this role will work
in parallel to the helpdesk, representing the team back to the customer and
prioritizing resolution activities with the customer. Education: Bachelor
Degree in Engineering, Math or Science preferred or related experience.
Experience: Typically requires 2-3 years' experience. Supervisory: No.
Environmental Requirements: This position may be responsible for contributing
to AT&T compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to
its job function. This may include, but is not limited to work related to fuel
tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous
materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other
construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.

qualifications: - Cisco CCNP.
Desirable Qualifications:- Firewall CCSP, CCNP Security, CCNP Wireless, CCDP in
addition to the mandatory one above.
Over 5 years' experience working as Network Engineer with LAN, WAN, Firewall
and Wireless products.
