Job Description

We're the driverless car company.

We believe in improving people's lives by making transportation safer, more accessible, and more convenient. We're building the world's most advanced software to fuel the driverless cars that safely connect people to the places, things, and experiences they care about.

We seek and embrace diversity in all of its forms. We continuously push ourselves to think differently and take ownership wherever it's needed. This is a place for dreamers and doers to succeed. If you share our passion for achieving what some say is impossible, join us.

About the teams:

Behaviors: Building algorithms that solve the intricacies of dense urban driving to help define how self-driving cars behave in challenging on road scenarios.

Pathing: Building new algorithms for path planning to achieve safe and human-like navigation.

Route Planning: Building routing algorithms to avoid congestion and optimize trips.

Interactions: Focusing on the boundary between prediction with planning. Owning prediction-planning machinery and runtime performance, providing yield behavior to the prediction engine, and managing the interfaces between prediction and various stages of the planning stack.

Solvers: Developing core algorithms in order to efficiently and accurately perform trajectory generation given the complex dynamic constraints of urban driving.

Prediction-Simulation: Determining how other agents in the world will move through the world, as well as determines how they will interact with each other and the AV. The trajectories we create for each agent are used by planning to determine a safe and comfortable path for the AV to follow.

Responsibilities:

* Design and develop complex, highly scalable, and latency-optimized software in C/C++
* Design and develop novel prediction algorithms that accurately forecast the future trajectory of other actors in the world
* Invent, extend, design and develop next-generation features for self-driving car applications
* Improve and deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing and code reviews

Requirements:

* 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer writing production quality code in C/C++
* 3+ years of robotics experience, ideally working on prediction or maneuver planning
* Comfort with fundamentals of probability and statistics
* Strong organizational and communication skills
* Ability to write clean, fast, reliable, testable, and highly scalable code
* Working experience in an environment that develops a complex multithreaded product
* Be willing to dive into anything, but know when to ask our stellar tools team for scripts or tools

Bonus Points:

* Experience with POMDP
* Experience with Reinforcement Learning
* Experience with CPU optimizations
* Experience with ROS
* Experience with Spark
* Experience with TensorFlow

Perks of being a Cruiser:

While doing meaningful work is the best perk of all, we also offer the following programs and benefits to support the extraordinary humans who serve as the backbone in making our robot cars go:

* The opportunity to solve difficult problems that have immediate and valuable real-world applications
* Competitive salary and benefits including 401k Cruise matching program to help you meet your long-term financial goals
* Medical / dental / vision, AD+D and Life
* Paid parental leave so you can spend time with the newest addition(s) to your family's fleet
* Health and Wellness reimbursement
* Flexible vacation and 10 paid company holidays
* State of the art equipment for your workstation
* Healthy lunch, snacks, dinner
