If you're looking for a great company, with incredibly talented engineers, making fabulous products that make a real difference in how well web and mobile work, apply today! Our products bring about change, leave an imprint, and transform the online experience of hundreds of millions of Internet and mobile users.

About the Reliability Awareness team:

Our goal is to provide tools, process, and measurements in service of reliability, all designed with our users in mind. We develop tools that contribute to the success of all New Relic products and services by assisting our entire product engineering organization measure and achieve their reliability goals, and work on initiatives to make life better for everyone who carries a pager.

New Relic is a fast growing software company and we care about our culture. We emphasize work/life balance, personal respect, and team autonomy. This means that the team gets to choose how it does work and how it aligns its work with the priorities of the business. We're also firmly committed to equal career development for our engineers. We have career tracks that will allow you to advance into management, or as an individual contributor without a glass ceiling.

Qualified applicants may inquire about visa sponsorship (including transfer of a current H-1B visa), but the company does not sponsor candidates for O-1, F-1, or J-1 visas, or candidates who require commencement of an H-1B "cap case" petition for future authorization. This position is to be filled as soon as possible.

What you'll work on:

* You'll partner with engineering, design, product management, and customer experience to design, own, and deliver tools that enhance our product reliability.
* You'll help shape our team's architectural direction with a high degree of innovation and creativity.

What working on this team is like:

* We work with the most talented people you'll meet. The problems we take on are enormously challenging, and people say New Relic's culture is the most supportive they've seen.
* Our philosophy is that we do our best work not individually, but together. Our day-to-day work is extremely collaborative, including mob programming & regular team sprint retrospectives. We enjoy having diverse viewpoints on software architecture, development, quality, and reliability.
* Our customers are our fellow engineers, so we have easy access to feedback. We experience the impact our work is having. We take pride in providing services with great availability and ease of use.
* Our existing tools are mainly Ruby on Rails and Node.JS applications. We have full ownership of our products, from wireframes to code, to maintaining and operating in production.

How do you know this role is for you?

* You delight in having hands-on-keyboard time, building great tools that are a joy to use.
* You have proven web development expertise using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
* You have worked in a software product or enterprise environment and are proficient in two or more languages, including but not limited to:
* Ruby/Rails, Python/Django, Node.js, or Java
* Bonus points for React or systems languages like Go
* You have an affinity for front-end development, but are knowledgeable about the whole stack that a complex modern application requires.
* You are adept at facilitating technical decisions within an engineering team.
* You thrive in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering production code at a regular cadence using Agile techniques, tools, and methodologies.
* You are able to balance feature work with reliability work.
* You're a strong communicator, expect the best of yourself and others, and would rather band together for a common cause than fly solo.
* You are enthusiastic and open-minded about your work. You care deeply about supporting your teammates, and always coming to the best solution.
* You have a keen eye for quality. You understand the value that build and test automation brings to a development team's efficiency and reliability.

Not sure if this is you?

We're particularly interested in having a diverse team, with a broad set of skills and viewpoints. If this seems like your dream job, but you're not sure if you qualify, apply anyway! We'll carefully consider every applicant that takes the time to apply for this specific position. We'll either move forward with you, find other teams that are good fits, keep in touch for later opportunities, or thank you for your time.

Interested? Send along

* Resume or CV
* Cover Letter telling us why you're interested in joining the Reliability Awareness team
* Anything else you'd like to share: Github, Twitter, blog, past talks, or portfolio.
