CarGurus' Platform/Infrastructure team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Platform. The Platform plays a key role for CarGurus to operate at scale. We are modernizing our technology platform and are looking to define key architectural capabilities, guide development teams on their successful implementation, and ensure the stability, security and scalability of our systems.

What You'll Do

Building the most trusted and transparent automotive marketplace requires a performant, reliable, and resilient platform for our services.

Our Platform Reliability Engineering team applies industry best practices and principles to ensure service reliability and resiliency. Note, this is not an operations role, we expect you to treat operations as a software engineering problem and work to automate and re-architect away from toil. This allows time for you to work on the things that matter, such as:

* Ensuring that our platform enables product teams to deliver high quality software with ease
* Owning core platform services that are the foundations of our software ecosystem
* Evolving our logging, monitoring and alerting systems to increase observability and transparency
* Increasing robustness by automation of workflows, process improvements, and integrating modern toolsets
* Participating in solving operational issues, helping us grow our Incident Response discipline

Who You Are

An individual with general curiosity, a belief in growth, and a demonstrable background in software engineering. You build infrastructure as code to create robust solutions based on loosely coupled systems, strongly leveraging modern toolsets and automation. You are at ease working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
