Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

You will be working on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Registry team. OCIR is a hosted registry for Docker container images for customers who want to store and launch their containers on OCI, including Kubernetes users. Eventually, OCIR will grow to become the destination for all build artifacts.

We are looking for Software Developers who:

o Can work with or learn the Scala language.In addition we are interested in those candidates who have worked with Java or Go.

o Have experience with or are interested in Functional Programming.

o Have experience with deployment automation with tools such as

o Docker, Ansible, bash, python

o Have worked with cloud infrastructure projects.

o Can independently work on large, complex projects.

o Show aptitude for architectural principals related to cloud infrastructure.

o Are willing to work with geographically dispersed teams.

o Can speak to past successes they have had in software development.

We are flexible about education and experience but we think this role is suited to someone with at least a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and at least 5 to 10 years experience as a software engineer/developer.
