We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join our team in Redwood City, to work towards enabling secure and private access to the world's information, to billions of people around the world. We are looking for an engineer who comes from a background of designing, developing network protocols. Someone who is passionate about performance, is well versed in linux networking internals, keeps security in mind and has a good understanding of web applications and micro services.

The candidate will be involved in projects requiring development of our proprietary protocol that has been proven to be 2X faster then any other VPN protocol. Candidate will work on helping us make the protocol faster then direct connection. Candidate will be working in the core technologies team developing next generation technology that will be implemented in multiple products that are in production. We need our engineers to have strong analytical skills, an enthusiasm for taking ownership and problem solving. As a result, they will have exposure to a broader set of problems, understand business requirements, which enables fast career growth.

Responsibilities:

* Lead designs of major software components, systems and features.
* Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software and services.
* Identify and keep track of key performance indicators of product quality.
* Manage priorities of various projects keeping in mind the deadlines.
* Developing and maintaining core module for the AnchorFree VPN
* Work on optimization of the proprietary protocol to make it faster then any existing VPN protocol.
* Helping to create automated performance tests and to evaluate the results for variety of real-life networking environments.

Minimum qualifications:

* Strong C programming skills.
* Extensive experience developing user-space networking applications (especially for Linux).
* Strong TCP / IP socket programming skills.
* Experience in Event-driven software (Async IO) or development of network protocols.
* Experience architecting and developing large scale design.
* Understanding of DNS, HTTP/HTTPS protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Hands on experience with performance tuning on Linux.
* Understanding of VPN and various VPN protocols (SSH, IPSec, openvpn).
* Bachelor/Masters degree in engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
