* Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.
* Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance.
* Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Microsoft has an exciting opportunity for a Cross-Domain Systems (CDS) Engineer to join the Azure CDS team that supports a wide set of missions within the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD). In this role, you will have the opportunity to support Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS) systems engineering and operations as part of larger systems engineering efforts and support the development of system designs that meet both mission functional requirements and security policy and assurance requirements. Cross domain services span a variety of security domains and classes of services. MSFT employees in this role will be working closely with IC and DoD mission partners on a baseline capability to support cross-domain requirements and implement CDS platforms and features as required.

Basic Qualifications:

* Passion for distributed structured storage
* 2+ years of experience building scalable structured distributed storage systems
* 5+ years of experience in developing with C#/Java/C++ OR C
* Experience with distributed programming models
* Experience creating, developing, delivering, deploying, maintaining online services
* Experience with multi-threaded/parallel programming
* Excellence in software engineering practices and coding
* Proven ability to plan, schedule and deliver quality software
* BS+ in computer science or related fields
* Extensive knowledge and experience designing for operability
* Ability to debug and optimize code, and automate routine tasks
