Job Description

The Workday Cloud Platform Tooling Team is looking for a Senior Software engineer who will help lead the design & development of the next generation of tools that will be used as part of the Workday Cloud Platform.

You will be joining the team that designs and builds both the metadata driven language and tooling used by every application development engineer at Workday. In addition, you will be leading a team tasked with building our next generation of application development technology.

About the Role:

* Support the release planning by understanding the details (effort, risk, priority) of the planned features
* Provide support in bringing other new developers up to speed; actively mentor junior developers to develop their technical expertise
* Collaborate with peers, engineering managers, and principal engineers on technical designs and implementation of new features
* Be an evangelist of our technologies and products. Communicate across multiple teams to showcase new features and functionalities

About You:

* 7+ years' experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming, fluent in Java, familiar with Go & AWS, proficient in applying common design patterns, ability to communicate design ideas effectively using UML
* Proficiency with major development tools and processes such as revision control, requirement specs, unit & system tests, etc.
* A demonstrable record in Test-driven development and Design
* Proven record of working with Continuous Delivery toolchains
* Proven ability to take leadership role in projects, ability to deliver on time working in a fast-paced agile environment
* Ability to work with product managers to clarify and prune requirements, strong verbal and written communication skills
* BS in Computer Science or related fields
