Job Description

TITLE: Senior Software Engineer (CB Information Services, Inc. d.b.a. CB Insights - New York, NY)

DUTIES: Work across the stack, building user interfaces, robust services and scalable data processing jobs. Develop next generation market intelligence platform on a small Agile team. Consistently and frequently deliver solutions that are well-engineered, maintainable, tested within the agreed upon timeframe. Work with the UI/UX team to create front-end patterns to be followed throughout the platform. Participate in code reviews and sprint planning. Collaborate with the product team to understand business requirements. Program high volume backend data processing systems between multiple databases including MySQL and ElasticSearch or Solr. Utilize modern web application development processes and standard methodologies. Build multi-tenant content management systems (CMS).

REQTS: Must have Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered, as a Senior Software Engineer, Backend Software Engineer, or a related role. Must have six (6) years of progressively responsible experience with: developing in Mac and Linux environment; relational database including MySQL, aurora, postgreSQL, and Oracle; reading and writing source code; source version control systems; analyzing software and business problems; web, api and back-end development; unit and integration testing; programming languages including PHP, HTML and Javascript; and nginx and apache server. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in a stated field plus four (4) years of experience. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
